Its a Pensacola local guy, Coastal Machine. He does good work, even though when you walk into the shop you see a bunch of outboards and big blocks. I had him do the pressure plate and previously did the BMW head too. He about lost it when he saw the head. He was like, "what the hell kind of head is that?!, I never seen one like that." I then proceded to give him a little background on the V-inline 6. He says he does plenty of VW 20v's, which tells me a little something about them. LOL! There was another guy in the shop who was blown away by the design of the head and asked if I could come by when the car back together so he could see the motor. LOL! Fuckin' American muscle car guys!

Thanks! I wish I would have thought about it a little more before I did it and prepared my self better. I am STILL pulling steel slivers out of my body. It aint like aluminum, steel slivers are tiny and get EVERYWHERE! LOL!

Today I got the clutch master in, the front motor mount welded, and the lower valance and both fenders got a good hammer and dolly treatment. The inside of the car got cleaned out too. Whoo hoo!

All right. I know I have been slacking on updates the last few weeks so here is one! Got everything together and in. I have everything hooked up including the wiring harness that I removed on accident (dont ask!) I went to fire it off and smoke started coming from under the dash. WTF? I took a peek and realized that I hooked the stereo ground wire to a BROWN power wire coming from the back of the fuse panel. Jeez. I removed the wire and re-connected the battery, now when trying to start I just get relay clicking. I replaced a few relays and still nothing. A power lead coming from battery to the fuse panel is getting hot where it plugs into the panel. Within the next few days I am going to pick up a used fuse panel from the junkyard and go from there. I hope I didnt jinx myself earlier when I shot my mouth off! LOL! Anyway, here are some pics. I will need to straighten the intake going into the MAF sensor but other than that she is ready to rock!

Thanks. I probably should mention its running. I havent gotten any pics up because the van broke another hose right before the jetta was running, so I have been busy working on the van. I put up the video so that should suffice. LOL!

I got everything straightened out and the car started right up. It smoked a little till the new guide seals broke in but now its great. I aired up all the tires, leveled the coils in the front and now it drives pretty straight. I did notice the power steering pump is starting to go so that will need repaired soon. Never ending! Next, is cleaning up the trunk! Holes and body lines need welded and then hopefully I will have some money for a paint gun. I am just trying to rough it in until I get that because I dont want to add anymore rattle-can primer to it anymore.
